Event details:

During this industrial exploration, ASM International BC Chapter will visit Rapidia Tech Inc. (1201, Franklin St., Vancouver, BC V6A 1L2), having a first-hand experience with the state-of-the-art metal paste deposition equipment and technology. The President of Rapidia, Mr. Dan Gelbart, will also give a talk, introducing current methods used for metal printing and discussing the on-going technology development trend.

Rapidia is Canada's only manufacturer of metal 3D printers. Rapidia uses a unique system in which metal paste is extruded by a printer similar to a filament-based plastics printer. After printing the part is placed in a sintering furnace (also made by Rapidia) which converts the dry paste into a solid metal object. Rapidia has been in business about 9 years and is one of the very few profitable companies in this space. For more information, please see: www.rapidia.com.
