The Columbia Basin Chapter of ASM International was proud to host ASM President Elect, Dr. Navin Manjooran on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the WSU Tri-Cities Campus in Richland, WA.
His talk, "Inventing the Future with Materials, The Backbone of Modern Technology & Innovation" was attended by close to 40 people including the general public, WSU Tri-Cities students and professors, American Nuclear Society Members, and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory staff including laboratory director Steve Ashby.
As Chapter Chair, I am thrilled to see such engagement in our newly rejuvenated society. I would like to thank everyone for attending, WSU Tri-Cities for hosting, and executive committee members who helped make the event a massive success.
I am proud to help bring this Chapter back to life, and look forward to bigger and better things. Dr. Manjooran provided useful advice on how to extend our outreach and grow our chapter. We look forward to starting a local student chapter as well as the possibility of hosting a Materials Camp next summer.
