    Dear Members 

    Required results are :

    1. Surface Hardness 850 Hv 0.3
    2. Diffused Layer 100 Microns
    3. White Layer 50 Microns
    4.Material Specifications IS 513Thickness 2.0mm
    5. Finish Chrome Color or Silver Color


    Please Suggest whether should we opt for Gas Nitriding or Gas Carbourising.Also let me know if someone could achieve the same Finish for us.

    Is 513 being a low carbon steel, will not achieve 850 hv in gas nitriding. A white layer of 50 microns is unheard of in any practical application.
    Carbonitriding will be suitable. But  the specifications appear to be for gas nitriding.May be better if you reconfirm the specifications .
