  • 1.  Sodium silicate sand reclamation.

    Posted 09-09-2021 08:49
    Good morning everyone.

my company has started a new Aluminum casting line with new technology, with the use of cores made of silica sand, and for the binder we are using Sodium silicate.

As you may know the casting sand with Sodium silicate as a binder is harder to reclaim in comparison with the Organic Binder (Novolak resin is the binder we use in our other process) this non-bake binder don't burn out.

So I'm here requesting if you know any company who may be willing and have the capacity to reclaim this kind of sand or If you may be interested in the project of reclaim this kind of sand please let me know.

I'm looking for any kind of information about it to increase my know how about this new process, so If you have some experience in the subject I will be happy to have a chat with you.

    Best regards.

The most common method of reclamation is as follows
Crush, sieving, washing in 00.3 % detergent followed by drying .
You will need to work out your reclamation plant based on the volume of sand used.
    I hope this helps.
