Daniel Grice, P.E. Senior Engineer
Larry D. Hanke, P.E., FASM, Principal Engineer
Materials Evaluation and Engineering Inc.
Event Description: The effective use of materials in engineering applications requires an understanding of material properties, including failure conditions. Fracture is an important aspect of material behavior. The evolution of methods used to study fractures has had an important role in materials engineering to improve product performance and reliability.
In this webinar, attendees will learn about:
Dan Grice is a senior materials engineer at Materials Evaluation and Engineering Inc.in Plymouth, Minn. He has experience in failure analysis, materials characterization, product evaluation, and research and development. His experience includes analyses of failures in metallic and nonmetallic materials by fracture, wear, and corrosion. Dan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. He is a registered professional materials and metallurgical engineer licensed in Minnesota.
Larry Hanke is a principal engineer and founder of Materials Evaluation and Engineering Inc. in Plymouth, Minn. He is a licensed professional engineer with over 40 years of experience in failure analysis, materials characterization, product evaluation, and research and development. While providing consulting on product improvement for diverse industrial applications, including medical devices and electronic components, Larry has encountered many testing and characterization challenges involving fractography and fracture analysis. Larry obtained a B.S. in metallurgical engineering from Iowa State University in 1978. He is a Fellow of ASM International and a current board member of the International Metallographic Society.
ASM International is the world's largest association of materials-centric engineers and scientists. We are dedicated to informing, educating, and connecting the materials community to solve problems and stimulate innovation around the world.
