ASM Community,
I hope this message finds everyone healthy and work as busy as ever.
As part of APT International's mission to unite materials science with historic preservation (and in my British parlance "heritage"), the Technical Committee for Materials has invited me to partake in their Talks initiative that shares material information on built fabric among preservation professionals. The focus of the discussion will centre around Monel alloy 400, an historic nickel-copper alloy that was popular during the first half of the twentieth-century, detailing some of the information that was published in the September and November/December issues of AM&P towards the end of last year.
I am fortunate enough to be co-presenting with the Chief Metallurgist of Special Metals Corporation (ex-INCO Alloys) Jack deBarbadillo, with moderation by Richard Pieper, a renowned metals conservator from New York.
