Archaeometallurgy Community

Hi everyone! How have you been?

This post is to suggest that you read Scott Henry's post, it is the post in response to the message I made as a Welcome to the Archaeometallurgy Committee. There Scott gives us some ideas, and it would be interesting if you could read the message, and meet virtually to talk about what activities we can develop as a Committee.

The subject of doing a webinar for example, we have discussed with David Sapiro who is willing to collaborate and thus be able to organize it with time, and talk about other points, ideas that we can discuss in the virtual meeting. Hopefully some of you or all of you would be interested in collaborating in one way or another.

David Vargas is the contact to arrange this meeting and he will surely contact you to plan the day and time you are available.
In my case, I will be available from Thursday, October 8.

Patricia,
My suggestion is for you, Vicky and Scott to select a date or two (perhaps next week or so?) and ask people for availability.  You will almost never be able to get everyone, but if the majority of the committee members are, then we can pick that date and start the discussion about committee activities, etc.

I agree with Nassos, we should plan a little more in advance.  Does anyone know if ASM has a native survey system for a discussion, or should I share a Surveymonkey scheduling link?

An update for all:
Scott Henry, Patricia, and I are going to have a discussion this coming Thursday to discuss our next steps for having a meeting with the archaeometallurgy community.
We share your enthusiasm on moving forward and will update you with meeting details in the next few days.
Note that we will do our best to accommodate global times.
