    Dear fellows,

As you are surely aware of the IMAT21 ASM Annual Meeting and that the abstract submission deadline is on February 19, for this reason I ask you if you are interested in having our own Symposium and that is why we do our best by sending an abstract and it is also very important that we disseminate it and communicate it with the colleagues where we are linked and thus we will have the opportunity to achieve our 1st Symposium and I think it is a great opportunity to crown our first year of work !!

(Remember it all started with my non-technical post on September 17, 2020, Viewers' Choice Winner !!).

I have consulted Scott Henry about this issue and he has responded by mail, which I am going to paste here:

-When abstracts for Archaeometallurgy topics are submitted, I think it would be good to assign them to the most relevant category for that particular presentation in the choices offered. I expect that if enough abstracts are submitted related to Archaeometallurgy, then the programming group would consider grouping them into a track or symposium-

    Therefore the possibility is there,

Let's get the batteries! I know we can do it !!

    Hi Silvana,

I have already submitted an abstract for my work on historic Monel under corrosion. I am happy for that to go under archaeometallurgy, but again still feel it would be more suitable if and when we change the name to Metallurgical Heritage.

Thanks and let me know if I need to contact anyone to reclassify it.

    Thanks James,

Yes, this will probably the better name for us.

And hope some papers will be submitted so we can have the 1° Symposium.

Surely, next week I will submit at least one paper.

Meanwhile I was connecting fellows, friends and colleagues to encouraged them to send a paper.

    Hope the Best for us!!

    Patricia and Scott:

How many papers are needed for a "track" and how many for a "symposium"?

    Dear Nassos,

Already I dont know how many we need.

Only will be good to put in the name of the work or mainly a name including these words related like: Metallurgy Heritage, so we can identfied them to our place.

Craig Deller give me a helping hand, so I put a calling Abstract for this topic in one of his Groups, hope we can get some works.

    Thank you for the support!

    Dear All,

As some may have seen already, the deadline for abstracts is now March 5th. However, the most suitable sessions are already closed to new submissions. I have asked David advice about submitting abstracts without specifying a session. I see also that the maximum is tow papers per person and 300 words for the abstract.

    All the best,
    Peter
