10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Arrive at the Mariners' Museum and enter through the side (business) entrance
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Join us in the Huntington/Anna Room for a presentation by Matt Hoffman, Director of Conservation
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Catered bag lunch
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Guided and self guided tours of the Mariners' Museum
NOTE: If you would like to order lunch, then you must make your reservation by 5 PM on Monday, June 7. Reservations for the talk and tour without lunch are available until 5 PM on Thursday, June 10.
About the Event:
Come and join us for a presentation about the ongoing preservation efforts for the USS Monitor, the first iron ship commissioned by the US Navy and famous for the first ironclad vs. ironclad battle with the CSS Virginia at the Battle of Hampton Roads in March of 1862. The talk will be presented by Matt Hoffman, Director of Conservation at the Mariners' Museum in Newport News, Virginia.
The presentation will be followed by a catered, bagged lunch and guided or self-guided tours of the museum and The USS Monitor Center.
