Good morning ASM Chapter,
On Monday, September 25th at 4:00 PM, we are touring the ASU labs including 1. the materials undergraduate labs, 2. the electron microscopy facility with some new instrumentation, 3. the Eyruing Materials Science Center, and 4. the materials synthesis lab. Afterwards we will head to Sauce (https://www.saucepizzaandwine.com/locations/tempe-tempe-union/). The tour has a max capacity of 30. Students are free and ASM nonmembers are $20. The closest parking is most likely the Apache guest parking, https://www.asu.edu/map/interactive/?id=120&mrkIid=161065, lot in link or review general parking with this link - https://cfo.asu.edu/parking.
Sauce Location
Please allow ample time to be at the meeting location at 4:00 PM, Materials UG lab in ECB 142. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Materials+Undergraduate+Lab/@33.4188941,-111.9342779,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x872b08dcfaaf91cf:0xb2535a747dfd9aeb!8m2!3d33.4188941!4d-111.9320892. RSVP via email to tlenzreax@cox.net or call/text 480-688-0338 with questions.
Join us to learn about characterization techniques. An ASU lab tour is a great way to learn what facilities are on campus, but how tools are used in teaching and research. Bring your questions regarding materials topics such as lab capabilities and mechanical testing, detection range of various methods, analytical spot size, analysis depth, sample preparation, sample sizes, impact methods/registered signals, materials analyzed, surface morphology, composition and limits per test method.
We look forward to seeing everyone!
