"Effective Business Communications for Engineers and Scientists"
Sometimes engineers and non-engineers have difficulties 'getting on the samepage'. The gap between them may seem wide, almost as though two different languages were being used. Let's get started on building a bridge over that gap.
In business settings, engineers need to inspire, encourage, sell and educate others about their work, project, company and themselves. The rewards of improved communications can be realized as barriers of understanding between engineers and non-engineers fade. Great communication skills include the proper application of verbal and non-verbal methods. These skills are not innate; they must be learned.
This presentation discusses ways for engineers to apply effective communication skills for a wide variety of business situations. Engineers will be exposed to some of the basic skills needed to communicate more effectively with non-engineers in group sizes ranging from one person to many.
