Speaker:  James (Jamie) Geary

FEATURE PRESENTATION:

"A Short History and Overview of the Air Zoo – from its founding to what's next"

SPEAKER BIO:

Jamie Geary grew up in Midland, Michigan.  His father a chemist and his mother an English major both fostered a love of reading and discovery.  Family visits to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry; watching flight operations at Midway Airport; the launch of Sputnik and the wonder of watching the first manned Moon landing all fostered a desire to understand and explain.  A brief stint in the Army followed by a lengthy and distinguished career as a trial lawyer provided Jamie with frequent opportunities to learn about and explain to jurors in simple terms an often complicated mix of legal principles and arcane subjects.  His wife's encouragement and a father-in-law who flew the FM2 Wildcat, Hellcat, and Corsair combined to bring him to the Air Zoo.  As a docent, Jamie now practices his gift by sharing with and learning from visitors, the many fascinating stories of people and possibilities embodied by the Air Zoo.
