Engineered Metallic Surfaces for Enhanced Environmental Stability

events_1.jpg
When:  Feb 23, 2021 from 18:00 to 20:00 (PT)

Metallic surfaces can be altered to achieve design objectives. Join us as Professor Vilupanur A. Ravi discusses how using pack cementation via halide activation is an economical approach to modifying the surfaces and microstructures of metallic materials.

In one evening our speaker will cover the halide-activated pack cementation process; discuss relevant thermodynamics and kinetics, and present some examples of his work.

Dr. Vilupanur A. Ravi is Professor and Chair, Chemical and Materials Engineering Department, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA. He is a Fellow of ASM and NACE. Dr. Ravi’s research interests are in the areas of materials processing and materials degradation. He has mentored generations of students through his teaching, research, and advising.

Join us Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 6pm (PST).
