    RSTC Members,

Ben Wang has put together a "roadmap" for our newsletters.  This information provides you with deadlines, future topics and areas where we need you to provide input and participate.  This is your newsletter and we need you to help us broadcast our accomplishments!

    Beth and Ben,

One idea for the newsletter would be to include a "roundup" of recent articles published in the ASM Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance (JMEP) that are related to residual stress. Residual stress is an important topic for JMEP, and this committee can help further expand its reputation as THE home for practical/applied research on this topic. Here's a link to JMEP papers published in 2021 that mention "residual stress"; many of the most relevant papers should be sorted toward the top of the list. Perhaps a committee member could peruse the results and pick a small number of the most pertinent and interesting papers to list/link in the newsletter. If this feature is useful, then it could be repeated on a regular basis (maybe once or twice per year, if not in every quarterly issue). We also potentially could include papers on RS from other ASM journals (e.g., Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention).

    Scott,

Thank you for a great suggestion.  This link or brief summary would fit well in our Conferences and Upcoming Events section.  Since this newsletter belongs to the committee, useful resources benefit us all.

I'm hoping that others will take notice and also make suggestions to make the newsletter relevant and useful.

    Regards,
    Beth
