Tune in for a technical review of threaded fasteners, their manufacturing methods, and how they fail. Of particular focus will be failures due to design, manufacturing, assembly/installation, and operation/service.
Dr. Daniel Dennies is a licensed metallurgical professional engineer with over 40 years of experience working in various raw material, forging, aerospace, and aircraft related industries. Throughout his career, he's worked on projects including the Space Shuttle Main Engine, expendable launch systems like Delta and Titan, the B1-B bomber, and X-37B Experimental Unmanned Space Plane. His areas of expertise include failure analysis, engineering design support, material and process selection, and material testing.
