Alloy Digest and Heat Treater's Guide data sheets

  • 1.  Alloy Digest and Heat Treater's Guide data sheets

    Posted 09-29-2023 15:20

ASM International is providing free online access to two issues of Alloy Digest-August and September 2023 --for a brief period of time. The two issues each contain five general data sheets on commercial alloy compositions, properties, and processing characteristics along with three Heat Treater's Guide data sheets for selected carbon steels.

ASM is seeking feedback about Alloy Digest and, in particular, the updated Heat Treater's Guide data sheets. Please take a look and let us know what you think.

    About Alloy Digest

Alloy Digest is the leading information source for commercial and standard alloys and their properties, performance characteristics, applications, and processing details. Alloy Digest datasheets provide facts and data on composition and product forms, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability. The Alloy Digest site in the ASM Digital Library features more than 6600 datasheets for the most widely used industrial alloys: steels, stainless steels, tool steels, cast irons, aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, nickel alloys, copper alloys, and many more types. The data sheets are in a consistent data structure to enable easy comparison of alloy compositions, physical and mechanical properties, and processing/application characteristics.

    About the Heat Treater's Guide

ASM International has published two Heat Treater's Guide volumes:

Practices and Procedures for Irons and Steels, Second Edition, 1995

Practices and Procedures for Nonferrous Alloys, 1996

The volume on ferrous alloys has long been one of ASM's most popular books. ASM has been exploring options for updating the HTG volumes over the past several years. The Alloy Digest Editor, Alok Nayar, recently started compiling updated Heat Treater's Guide data sheets for carbon steels. He would be pleased to receive feedback about the coverage of the initial updates and ideas for how future sheets can be even more useful.
