Dear Thermal Spray Community!
The ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) is announcing a transition at the Editorial Team of the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology (JTST).
After serving as Editor-in-Chief of the JTST since 2016, Prof. Armelle Vardelle (FASM & TSS HoF - University of Limoges, France) has transferred her responsibilities to Prof. Andre McDonald, FASM (University of Alberta, Canada).
Andre has been the JTST Lead-Editor since 2016 (working with Armelle) now he is the new Editor-in-Chief of the JTST.
During Armelle's leadership the JTST exhibited an exceptional growth period of global reach and quality, which submissions increased by more than 25%, the number of full-text downloads each year tripled, and the journal's Impact Factor (IF) increased from 1.568 in 2015 to 2.839 in 2021 (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11666-023-01564-8). For sure her input and wisdom as an advisor to the JTST will continue to be an asset to all of us.
And ASM-TSS is also proudly announcing the new Lead-Editor of the JTST, Prof. Giovanni Bolelli (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy).
The JTST is not only the "TSS journal", but one of the most important publications in the world related to thermal spray technology. It has created an important influence on the global thermal spray community since it was launched in 1992; i.e., 31 years ago.
For sure Andre (New JTST Editor-in-Chief) and Giovanni (New JTST Lead-Editor), with their outstanding professional achievements and great contributions to our thermal spray community, will keep the high standards of the JTST… as well as… will take it into hew heights.
