A "Maître de Conférences" position (equivalent to an entry-level tenured Associate Professor position), associated with CNU Section 62 (Energy and process engineering), is opening at the University of Limoges !
The job description is presented below, but in a nutshell, the position is associated with :
- the Materials Department of the ENSIL-ENSCI engineering school, with general teaching and teaching related to surface treatments
and
- the IRCER laboratory (UMR CNRS n° 7315) for plasma and laser process modeling, including plasma and thermal spraying, as well as AI-based digitization through the creation of digital twins
Responsibilities will be :
- Teaching : tutorials in thermodynamics, materials resistance, and fluid mechanics; practical classes in CAD (CATIA); courses in surface and interface thermodynamics and an introduction to surface treatments and coatings; project and internship supervision
- Research : multiphysics modeling and numerical simulation of plasma and laser processes, coupled with a digitalization approach using AI, via the creation of digital twins, partnership with SAFRAN and OERLIKON through the SAFIR technical platform
