I have seen a presentation in the past from Martine Simard-Normandin from MuAnalysis in Canada where she was analyzing the mold compound of counterfeit components.  I think this would be a good resource with a wealth of information.  You could look the company up online, or even send an email to info@muanalysis.com as a starting point.
