Hi Aravind,
Your question on "how industries see hiring international talents" is outstanding and very pertinent. I wish you had asked it during the TSS Open Mic at the ITSC 2023.
Many PhD students and post-docs in thermal spraying are foreigners in the respective countries in which they are pursuing those degrees. Therefore, industries interested in people with strong thermal spray background will likely need to hire these young professionals. On the other hand, depending on the industrial position available/offered, a permanent residency or citizenship is required. And as previously stated, many PhD students and post-docs are foreigners and do not possess these credentials yet. Consequently, you have a major conundrum.
Hopefully recent international PhD graduates or recent foreigners who were hired to work in the thermal spray industry will shine some light on this important subject.
Again... that's a great question.
Cheers!

Subject: Industry Perspective on hiring International talents
Hello everyone,
I am more curious to know and understand how industries see hiring international talents. What are the challenges industries have to address and how complicated is this entire process?
Also, regarding thermal spraying, what are the current challenges industry is going through?
Best regards
