The NRC's SURFTec Thermal Spray Industrial R&D Group is a multi-partner research initiative led by the NRC's Thermal Spray Surface Engineering Team that focuses on addressing INDUSTRY-driven needs for thermal spray technologies 🚀.
In operation since 1995, SURFTec leads pre-competitive MARKET-driven R&D projects in 3 key areas:
- Advanced gas turbine coatings: Thermal/Environmental Barrier Coatings (T/EBCs)
- High-performance protective coatings: ID-HVOF and ID-HVAF for landing gears and oil & gas
- Thermal spray 4.0: Industry 4.0 applied to thermal spray
