Master Bond, makers of the EP-15 epoxy, have a lot of expertise. While at Metco, I alerted Dr.Walter Brenner (see
https://www.masterbond.com/content/dr-walter-brenner ) to our need for a high tensile strength, one-part, heat-curable C633 adhesive, and he came up with EP-15.
Another useful one-part adnesive is aluminum-filled 3M EC-2214 Hi-Density (see
https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40068291/ ). For this, the best curing condition is 250 F (121 C) at the bond line for 1-2 hours.
Epoxy shelf lives are extended by storage in a freezer when not in use.
The one-part epoxies all lose viscosity as they heat up, until curing sets in. This can cause the epoxy resin to penetrate porous coatings and strengthen them, leading to spurious high fracture stresses. Ironically, if the coatings are very porous, the loss of resin from the original bond line weakens the bond line itself, giving spurious low fracture stresses.
Hildy Florant at Metco was developing "double-boiled" linseed oil as a 100% solids sealer for coatings. I found that sealing with it (air dry plus a day to set, or air dry plus a mild heat cure) could prevent glue penetration. Excess cured sealant had to be removed from the coating surface with sandpaper and acetone or alcohol before epoxy application.
Glue penetration can be prevented by using a two-part epoxy like Henkel Loctite A1177B1/B2 (see
https://www.ellsworth.com/products/by-manufacturer/henkel-loctite/adhesives/epoxy/henkel-loctite-a1177b1b2-epoxy-adhesive-green-1-qt-kit/ ). Air cure overnight + heat cure 250 F (121 C) / 2 hours can give up to 9000 psi (62 MPa).

Subject: Searching for an alternative to the FM-1000 glue for tensile adhesion test (ASTM C633)
Dear Rogerio
It'll be challenging if there's no any alternatives for same.
I've found below glue which can be use for adhesion testing as per ASTM C-633. But it's useful for Pullout Adhesion Testing method not UTS I guess.
I've used this brands glue for lower bond strength not same for ASTM C-633 but it's good and very easy to use.
I've attached a link and product details here, it may help you to check in detail :

Subject: Searching for an alternative to the FM-1000 glue for tensile adhesion test (ASTM C633)
Dear Thermal Spray Community!
At the NRC we received this week an email message stating that the FM-1000 glue, which is highly used for tensile adhesion testing (ASTM C633), is going to be discontinued before the end of 2022.
According to the message, a specific raw material used to manufacture the FM-1000 will no longer be available, which will limit the ability to produce the material going forward.
At this moment I am looking for an alternative to the FM-1000, i.e., (i) another epoxy glue in tape form that (ii) exhibits similar performance.
Any information is highly appreciated.
Cheers!
