Have you ever seen an experiment go so very wrong that you just laugh at its spectacular failure? There's a reason why you don't use furniture screws in a jet engine or put metal in a microwave! Share you own experience with an experiment that went so badly, you had to pause and just admire the level of destruction that was wrecked. What went wrong and how?

We have, and the results were so impressive we'll actually be speaking about that during IMAT this year during the FAS symposium.

I'll just say this : next time I hire a mechanical engineering graduate (we're a metallurgy lab), I will make sure to make them follow a chemistry class before I let them start experiments.
