Dear Thermal Spray Community!
The ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) event TSS Open Mic Virtual Series mission is to provide a platform for emerging professionals in the thermal spray (i.e., students and post-docs) to engage, learn, and network with established experts, leaders, and innovators in the field.
And our next guest is Dr. Nicholas Curry from Thermal Spray Innovations.
The title of his presentation will be: "How not to become a thermal spray consultant!"
Summary: How does one end up being a consultant? It's not always a straight and obvious path. In this open mic session, I will recall my thermal spray journey from academia, through Industry to ending up as a technical consultant. This road set against the backdrop of the fast-evolving suspension plasma spray field and its move from experimental to 'flying' technology. Finally, I will talk about life as a consultant and what is important when you work for yourself, supporting others in the field.
Nick Curry will share with all of us very important professional perspectives of someone who has a PhD degree in thermal spraying; from his industrial experience to opening his own consultation business in thermal spray technology.
The session will be on November 15th (Wednesday) at 9:00 – 10:00 am North American ET.
