The ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) Open Mic returns with a fresh 30-minute format-no slides, just real talk. Join candid conversations and interviews with leading voices exploring industry trends, big-picture ideas, and the future of thermal spray.
The first session features Mr. Nelso Antolotti (Thermal Spray Hall of Fame), President and Founder of Lincotek Group (Italy).
This is a short-bio of his extraordinary life:
Mr. Nelso Antolotti, born in 1949 in Parma (Italy), began his career in the automotive industry with FIAT and Dallara. At 24 years old in 1973, he founded Flametal, introducing thermal spray technology in Italy. Over time, he focused into sectors like industrial gas turbines (IGTs), Aerospace and biomedical, leading to the creation of Turbocoating and Eurocoating (now Lincotek) in 1999.
His focus on innovation and vertical integration enabled the group to offer full value chain services in medical implants, gas turbines, aerospace components including 3D printing, coating, and machining. Notably, in 2015 he launched a joint venture with GE Aerospace to produce environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) for ceramic matrix composites (CMC) components of jet engines.
Under his leadership, Lincotek grew organically and through acquisitions across Europe, the U.S., and China, becoming a global leader in thermal spray technology. Today, Lincotek employs 1,800 people and generates $300M in revenue. His daughter Linda now leads the group, continuing its path of innovation and growth.
