This is his amazing short-bio: Dr. Leo Ajdelsztajn worked as a Senior Principal Scientist at GE Research (USA) and has been developing and deploying coating technologies and materials solutions for over 24 years for the aviation, power generation, health care and oil and gas industries. He has developed several processes for the manufacture and repair of turbine coatings that are currently in production at global manufacturing sites. His research has included wear and corrosion coatings for subsea applications, superhydrophobic coatings for steam turbines and condensers, solid particle and water droplet erosion solutions for turbomachinery needs using conventional and suspension combustion-based thermal spray processes. In cold spray he has developed and advanced the state of the art in cold spray technology (equipment, feedstock, process parameters and robotics) for structural repairs and additive manufacturing of aerospace components, with emphasis on nitrogen cold spray of nickel superalloys, titanium alloys, steels, and refractory materials.
