Dear Thermal Spray Community,
In 2020 (i.e., 5 years ago), I was invited by Prof. Chris Berndt to give a talk at the Surface Engineering for Advanced Materials (SEAM) Webinar Series of the Australian Research Council (ARC). It was a live webinar from Montreal (Canada) to Melbourne (Australia).
The webinar was titled "Understanding How Much Thermally Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) Protect Jet Engines Against Major Failure: A Tutorial Presentation"
The objective of this tutorial talk is to explain to a broad audience (in simple words) how TBCs are paramount for jet engines. This video can be very useful for those who are giving their first steps into this field. Hopefully it will inspire younger researchers, engineers and technicians to pursue their careers in this amazing technology 🚀.
For those interested, please just click here to watch it (open access): How Thermal-Spray Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) protect Jet Engines against major failures R. Lima
I am grateful for the opportunity and the possibility of sharing it.
