Dear Thermal Spray Community!
As the President of the ASM International Thermal Spray Society (TSS), it is my huge pleasure to welcome you all to the International Thermal Spray Conference 2023 (ITSC 2023); which will start in no more than a week (May 22-25).
It is a privilege for us to organize this event in Canada. In addition to being held in the beautiful Quebec City, the ITSC 2023 offers a fantastic myriad of opportunities to its attendees. We will have an amazing 3.5-day fully packed program with a great keynote speaker, outstanding presenters & papers, TSS and ITSC Awards Ceremonies, a live version of the TSS Open Mic, the Young Professionals Competition and immense opportunities for networking with the exhibitors and attendees.
Regarding the keynote speaker, we are delighted to introduce Dr. Sonia Tulyani. Dr. Tulyani is the Executive Director for Materials and Processes Engineering at Pratt & Whitney, and her presentation is entitled "Advanced Materials for Sustainable Aviation".
With respect to presentations, we expecting a total of 293 papers. Of this number, 267 of them being oral podiums and 26 posters. We are proud to announce that at this time all authors who requested oral presentations, were granted podiums.
To honour (i) those who have greatly contributed to our thermal spray global community and (ii) those who have shown us the greatest scientific breakthroughs during the conference, the TSS and ITSC Awards Ceremonies will be there to recognize these great contributions and accomplishments.
And for the very first time, we happy to announce that will have a live version of the web-based TSS Open Mic at the ITSC. This time at the ITSC, we will give attendees the unique opportunity to see well-established thermal spray professionals expressing themselves in a "more informal way"; face-to-face.
As a continuing ITSC tradition, once again we are glad to bring the Oerlikon Metco Young Professionals Competition. This competition seeks to encourage the participation of thermal spray students in the ITSC.
As always, the ever-expanding ITSC Exposition will continue to provide participants with access to the leading industrial players of the thermal spray community, with a total of 64 exhibitors. There you will find the global leaders in everything related to thermal spray materials, processing and characterization.
