The ASM Pittsburgh Chapter held its annual Young Member's Night Meeting February 19, 2026 at the University of Pittsburgh's University Club. The presentations for the event started with Pitt undergrad student Daniel Giganti's "Forging Theory and Practice: The Value of Experiential Learning in Materials Science and Engineering". The graduate presentation featured Ece Gunay form CMU, "Atomic-Scale Characterization of Novel Ferroelectrics Using Scanning Transmission Electorn Microscopy". The night's main speaker was Dr. Navin Manjooran, President and Chair of the Board of Trustees of ASM International with his presentation, "Inventing the Future with Materials: The Backbone of Modern Technology & Innovation." This was followed with awards for student posters and outstanding students at bott Pitt and CMU. A special thanks to all the student volunteers that make this happen.
