The April meeting for the Pittsburgh Chapter was the Carnegie Lecture. This year's speaker was Bob Hill of Solar Atmospheres. His topic, "Global Trends Shaping the Future of Heat Treating was informative, interesting, and well-received. Thanks to Bob for his effort. Also, thanks to CCAC West Hills Campus for all their efforts to make sure our meeting went well. On March 19, our chapter had a joint meeting with ACerS at the Iron City Distillery in Creighton, PA. Before the meeting, members were given a tour of the distillery and the brewery. Paul Boscarino gave an excellent presentation on the history of glass, which has a long history in Pittsburgh. The ASM Pittsburgh Chapter held its annual Young Member's Night Meeting February 19, 2026 at the University of Pittsburgh's University Club. The presentations for the event started with Pitt undergrad student Daniel Giganti's "Forging Theory and Practice: The Value of Experiential Learning in Materials Science and Engineering".
