    Dear Thermal Spray Community!

ASM International Thermal Spray Society (TSS) has an important announcement regarding the Standard Test Method for Adhesion or Cohesion Strength of Thermal Spray Coatings (ASTM C633), a.k.a., the thermal spray bond strength test or pull-test.

As many of you are aware, the production of the current epoxy film glue (FM 1000) employed by many test labs in the world is going to be discontinued. It does represent a major concern to many members of our thermal spray community.

To address this issue, Mr. Robert (Bob) Miller (ramiller500@aol.com) on behalf of TSS will lead a "Tiger Team" with the objective to find an alternative epoxy film glue to the FM 1000.

Consequently, at this moment we are asking for volunteers to make the coated blanks, apply adhesive, fixture, cure, and test them (universities, government labs, thermal spray service centres and OEMs), as well as, adhesive suppliers.

All these results will be distributed among the thermal spray community.

For those members of the thermal spray community who want to volunteer and help us at TSS to find a potential alternative to the FM 1000 film epoxy glue, please contact Mr. Bob Miller directly (ramiller500@aol.com).

    Thanks for your attention!
