    Dear Thermal Spray Graduate Students & Post-docs!

    ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) has an important announcement for you: the TSSE Emerging Professionals Poster Competition.

    You are invited to submit your poster for the new Thermal Spray & Surface Engineering Forum & Expo (TSSE 2022). The Emerging Professionals (EP) poster session and competition is intended to serve as a platform to highlight the work of emerging professionals (e.g.; graduate students & post-docs) and to foster exchange between them and the ASM Thermal Spray Society (TSS) community.

    The posters will be reviewed by expert judges and will be selected based on technological innovation and relevance to the thermal spray field. The prizes will be as follows:

    1st Prize - $500.00 USD
    2nd Prize - $300.00 USD
    3rd Prize - $200.00 USD

    Eligibility: the competition is open to all early/young researchers (graduate, post graduate and research scholars).

    Submission Deadline: Please submit a short abstract (300 words or less), by Thursday, June 30, 2022 to Mrs. Jeanelle Harden (ASM Global Conference Manager) at jeanelle.harden@asminternational.org.

    The abstract should include abstract title, author name, affiliation, abstract and biography).

    Thanks for the friendly reminder Carrie!

    The TSSE 2022 will be a great chance for Emerging Professionals (EP); i.e., students and post-docs, to network face-to-face (F2F) with some of the most-connected people in our thermal spray community. 

    Why? At the TSSE 2022 we will have the Thermal Spray Society (TSS) pavilion in the expo hall. Over there, we will have the thermal spray industry booths, TSS coffee-breaks,  TSS lunches, as well as, the posters of the TSSE 2022 EP Poster Competition in just one area. Consequently, the networking will be boosted.

    Basically, during 2020 and 2021, the majority, if not all in-person events were cancelled. Therefore, EPs did not have a chance to network in-person with the core of our thermal spray community. And this networking is very important towards building a career. And now, as we are slowly starting to have events F2F again, the TSSE EP poster competition will be a good opportunity for these young professionals to catch up.
