ASM is seeking judges to help evaluate the Material Advantage Student Chapters of Excellence Competition! This is a great chance to learn more about the exciting work our student members are doing as well as help reward them for their efforts.
Eligibility
Judges must be ASM professional members (non-students) and able/comfortable with critically evaluating reports based on the provided scoring criteria. Before applying, please review the official contest rules that are provided to the students.
Current/former university faculty, emerging professionals familiar with Material Advantage, and those involved at the professional chapter or committee level are generally best suited for judging.
Process
Material Advantage Chapters that participate must submit an essay detailing their activities in various categories. Essays are due June 1. Due to the amount of essays submitted, judges will be split into either Round 1 (Group 1 or Group 2) or Round 2. Round 1 judging will be conducted between June 11 - July 13 with Round 2 judging conducted between July 15 - August 11. Winners will be announced August 15.
Essays and scoresheet will be provided to the judges based on their assigned Judging Round. This is an independent volunteer activity where work can be done at your own pace within the timeline outlined above. No formal meetings are planned to occur.
