Purpose:

The Emerging Technologies Awareness Committee advises and alerts the Board of Trustees and ASM membership about emerging technologies, as well as global trends and developments in materials, commerce, government, societal perceptions, and education that may have significant impact on the ASM membership or society operations. ETAC will generate annual programming for IMAT in areas of emerging technologies. It will provide surveys identifying new technologies, as well as recommend new products and services for ASM.

Technical programming
Surveys
Articles and news items


Qualifications of Members
A member of ASM with experience or involvement in technology R&D.

20

Time Commitment:
Members 1 to 2 hours/ month.

Term:
Terms expire August 31. New term begins September 1

Support of Committee Activities:

ASM Staff Liaison will provide an orientation and information prior to the beginning term date of September 1st annually. In addition, the Staff Liaison participates and is an active partner in all meetings and activities of the committee.
