Looking for members for LGBTQ+ subcommittee of IDEA Committee

Description:

The Women in Materials Engineering Committee has recently expanded its scope and changed its name to the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Awareness (IDEA) Committee. We have four subcommittees that include (1) Women in Materials Engineering; (2) Retention of Diversity in Materials Engineering; (3) LGBTQ+ in Materials Engineering, and (4) Underrepresented Minorities in Materials Engineering. Members of these subcommittees work closely together, and our efforts and foci often overlap. Each subcommittee also has the freedom to explore specific activities and efforts that support the diverse needs of our ASM members. 

We are seeking members for our expanded efforts that address the needs of our LGBTQ+ membership. We welcome individuals of all genders to join us in identifying and prioritizing activities, events, research, and sharing of knowledge. We welcome allies and friends of the LGBTQ+ community. If you are interested in joining we welcome your input and involvement!

Time commitment: ~ 1-2 hr/month 
Volunteers Needed:

3 – 5 volunteers: General committee members to attend LGBTQ+ meetings and help with specific, defined tasks throughout the year. Examples include, but not limited to, planning webinars, planning conference events, development of outreach activities and other events
