Open call: The ASM Finance Committee annually seeks volunteers for three-year terms. Each year, a variable number of positions open on the Committee, and we keep an active list of those who have expressed interest for use at that time. 

The Finance Committee oversees the financial affairs of the Society under the direction and approval of the Board of Trustees. In this role, its responsibilities include: review the annual financial plan and recommend it to the Board for action; review requests for Non-Operating/Capital Expenditure monies and recommend action to the Board; review the annual report of the Treasurer; establish financial policy and procedures; select an independent CPA firm to audit the financial results; annually form an Audit Committee to review the audit report; and advise the Board on all financial matters.

Members of the Finance Committee travel to one to two meetings per year and participation in virtual meetings. Finance Committee members must be individual professional members of the Society. It is preferred that Finance Committee volunteers have a good understanding of finance and accounting. Direct business experience is a plus. Prior experience in the volunteer leadership of ASM is also helpful.
