Judges for the ASM Student Speaking Symposium (S3)

ASM is seeking judges for the Student Speaking Symposium (S3) competition! Deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2023.

About The Contest: 
Participating students will create approximately five minute videos showcasing their research. The videos will be evaluated based off of various criteria by a panel of judges. Undergraduate and Graduate students will be two different categories in the contest. There will be a first ($1,000), second ($750), and third ($500) in each category. A Most Popular Presentation Award ($500) will be given to the video presentation with the most "likes" on the ASM YouTube Channel. You can see the formal rules by clicking here.

Judge Responsibilities:
Those interested in judging should be able and comfortable with critically evaluating the research presentations. Familiarity with various materials and processes will assist in this role. Candidates must be graduated from university and professional members of ASM. Each judge will review no more than 15 videos total and will have between Feb. 27, 2023 - March 13, 2023 to score them. A scoresheet with criteria will be provided. This is a virtual contest and no in-person component is required. Only internet and email access is needed to judge.
