Qualifications:
We are looking for a diverse group of individuals with various levels of experience - from the novice to the expert with a background in Materials Engineering who also have average to advanced experience using an internet browser,
Volunteers/Members familiar with social media tools/technology (e.g. Facebook, Linked In, Forums) would be well suited.
Duration of Member position commitment: (one year/two years/up to three years) All of these are possible.
Committee Size: 15 Members
Committee Structure: Networking, Collaboration/Forums
Annual Time Commitment: The time commitment for a Web Focus Group will be relatively small, there typically being a meeting by teleconference once a month usually for an hour and one possible face-to-face meeting at ASM's annual meeting.
Method of Meeting(s): Monthly Conference Call
Committee Purpose The ASM Web Focus Group shall guide and champion ASM's web strategy and development to meet both current and future needs of ASM members and the technical community. The Web Focus Group shall review key features and criteria that should be incorporated into ASM’s website and online services. When needed, the committee shall implement improvements based on established metrics to increase the website effectiveness.
Product(s) and Service(s) Key Responsibilities:
- Become knowledgeable about the ASM International Website (asminternational.org), and be willing upon request as part of committee projects to review specific content and/or performance of the website.
- Help to Maintain and improve the usability of the website
- Help ensure timely response and improvement of the ASM Website through customer feedback
- Help to ensure processes are in place for adding and expanding ASM’s content and managing intellectual property.
