As I have been more than 22 years serving the Metals industry and scientific community, as quality and R&D engineer and scientist, I feel that there are still too many topics to explore/integrate expanding our "narrow" knowledge area.

For instance, AI and machine learning are the new emerging super-fascinating novel subjects, bringing new tools for handling data and making decisions. But how "new" and breakthrough is the real knowledge that they bring and how capable they are to dis-entangle the mysteries of the nature and suggest tangible solutions for universal problems (such as climatic change, energy and material economy, etc.) aiding the welfare of the global society and life improvement.

What is the opinion/thought/statement of the young and senior Materials Scientist and Engineering professionals on this matter?

The following Editorial is based on an actual chat that I recently had on ChatGPT https://lnkd.in/gQkmejxE. This is not intended to be an endorsement but an example of the types of queries and conversations that you can experience. My initial question posed in the chat window:
TP: What causes hot tears in castings?
