Abstract
The ASM Materials Education Foundation strengthens the connection between education and industry by expanding access to hands-on materials science learning. This presentation will highlight the Foundation's mission, programs, and national impact, with a focus on how strategic partnerships support workforce development.
Members will learn how the Foundation equips K–12 educators through initiatives such as the ASM Materials Camp® – Teachers and engages students in exploring careers in materials science, manufacturing, and engineering. Participants will gain insight into how investing in educators and students builds sustainable pathways for the future STEM workforce.
Kristie Maravalli Bio
Kristie Maravalli, MSA, is the Campaign Director for the ASM Materials Education Foundation, leading national efforts to fund and expand hands-on STEM programs for teachers and students. With over a decade of nonprofit leadership and 15 years in collegiate coaching, she brings expertise in fundraising, strategic partnerships, and workforce development. At ASM, Kristie drives initiatives that introduce materials science into K–12 classrooms and build pathways to STEM careers. Known for her energetic leadership and results-driven approach, she holds degrees from Susquehanna University and West Chester University and is passionate about empowering educators to shape the next generation of STEM Professionals.
