UG-14 was revised in 2019 to address "anisotropy" of mechanical properties of rod and bar. For flat heads it requires using 50% of the stress values from Sect. II. Does anyone know IF this should apply to austenitic stainless like 316? From where did this problem arise, and was it material specific?
