ASM International's Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance (JMEP) will publish a special issue on Materials Informatics. Materials informatics employs data driven methods (e.g., artificial intelligence and machine learning) to accelerate materials discovery, design, development, and product deployment. These approaches can reduce time to market, improve performance, and enhance sustainability. This special issue will focus on the use of material informatics to advance our understanding of the relationship between processing, microstructure, properties, and performance of materials.
Prof. Dermot Brabazon, Dublin City University (Ireland), Prof. Vistasp Karbhari, University of Texas at Arlington (United States), Prof. Antonios Kontosos, Rowan University (United States), Prof. Paromita Nath, Rowan University (United States), and Dr. James Saal, Citrine Informatics (United States) will serve as guest editors.
Interested authors are strongly encouraged to submit an abstract to Dr. William E. Frazier (frazierwe@gmail.com) for consideration and comments before the preparation of a full manuscript.
Abstract submissions are due by August 13, 2026. For more information, please visit here.
