    Hey ASM Community!  I'm Gowtham Rajan, an undergrad from Anna University, thrilled to be part of this vibrant community!  Currently, I'm exploring higher study and research opportunities in the field of Additive Manufacturing and Materials Science with a keen focus on research.

    Hi, Gowtham,

    The welding industry has been doing additive manufacturing for over 100 years, except that we call it weld metal buildup.  There is a history of that posted on my website under Welding Articles.
