The International Metallographic Contest (IMC) is seeking entries for its 2023 competition! The IMC is an annual event co-sponsored since 1972 by IMS and ASM International with the goal to advance the science of microstructural analysis by providing an opportunity for those interested in scientific information.
There are six different classes of competition covering all fields of optical and electron microscopy. Classes 1-3 are poster classes utilizing optical and electron microscopy to help solve a problem, characterize a material or process, or descript a unique or unusual technique. Classes 4 and 5 are artistic color and black & white images respectively. Class 6 is a video class format on a topic of choice related to a specific material, family of material, a specific component, or a process for materials.
Prizes are awarded for each class. Best in Show is awarded the prestigious Jacquet-Lucas Award of $3,000.
Submission deadline is September 29, 2023 and judging will take place during IMAT 2023, Oct 16-19 2023 in Detroit, MI.
