As someone who came to materials in a mid-life career transition, what are the best trainings and resources you would recommend to help someone accelerate a career working primarily with steels?
For a little context, my B.S. was in mathematics, and my M.S. was in mechanical engineering, though my thesis was in materials (but not specifically metals). But I know that I am well behind someone that came up through a metallurgy and metals based program. I try to monitor Connect and the weekly updates are super helpful. It is how I start my week. But I am also looking for recommendations for classes (I'm slowly working my way through the ASM catalog) and publications that may be helpful.
