Hi Kenneth
I inherited two durometers when I came in as a new lab manager that have worked well for us. They are from Rex Gauge Company, models 1600 A-0510 (Shore A) and 1600 D-01330 (Shore D). They have dial gauges but are easy to read, easy to use and have always worked. I'm sure digital gauges would be nicer. Using them by hand can be challenging to always use exactly right. I got the stand they sell about five years ago which significantly improved ease of use and repeatability of measurements. The stand is also easy to use. As for accuracy, I don't know for certain because I never seem to get around to buying reference test blocks. Maybe this will motivate me to finally do it.
I know there are others, so I am interested to learn what you finally choose.

Subject: Selecting a durometer
I am looking to purchase a durometer and I am looking for suggestions of vendors. Does anyone have suggestions for companies making durometers that are good or should be avoided?
Note: I am looking for a durometer to be used with a stand.
