  • 1.  Supplier: Silica Sand for particle erosion

    Posted 04-26-2023 11:03

    Hello everyone,

I am currently seeking a vendor that can supply silica sand with a particle size of less than 200 microns in North America, specifically in Canada. This sand will be used for solid particle erosion testing purposes. If anyone has any leads or recommendations on potential vendors, I would greatly appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you

    Hello Rakesh,

Please note that silica sand is no longer recommended for erosion testing due to its carcinogenous nature. You may use alternate media such as garnet, glass beads, crushed glass, coal slag or mineral sand, depending on your requirements (hardness, size, angularity, chemistry etc).

There are a number of suppliers. Search under "blasting media"

    Hello Rakesh

Two options you may want to consider are US Silica and AGSCO.  Following on from Ratnesh's comment, make sure you have the required safety procedures in place.

    Cheers,
