Hello Diane,
Feel free to contact John LeCoche at 416-452-4043 cell and jlecoche@rogers.com. John deals with hardness testers, image analysis systems, metallographic microscopes etc. Our lab has Clemex image analysis system which includes automated micro hardness tester and microscope. We also have separate Rockwell with automated stage and Brinell macro hardness testers. All of these instruments were purchased from John. We are extremely happy with John and the instruments.
So, I strongly recommend communicating with John before talking with another company. I am sure you would be happy with John personally and professionally.
Best wishes,
Huseyin

Subject: Universal Hardness Testers
Hello,
I am looking for pros / cons of purchasing a universal hardness tester.
We had a 25 year old Rockwell hardness tester that now needs to be replaced. We are looking into setting up a metallography lab in-house and will need the ability to do Vickers Microhardness testing.
Regarding the Rockwell test, historically we were testing on the C scale. We may need to gain the ability to do superficial hardness testing as well.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Diane Esemplare
