The end of WWII was a time of uncertainty in Los Alamos, and the founding of the Chapter in 1946 is an indicator of optimism and a vision of the future on the part of the founding members. Although the details of the early years of the chapter are limited, this talk will highlight a few of the materials researchers that may well have played a role in the early chapter and the impacts they had on Los Alamos and the greater materials community.
