Learning Opportunity: Heat Treatment of Steel Course – Starts Oct 24, 2023
The Peoria Chapter of ASM International's Materials Engineering Institute is hosting an instructor-led course on Heat Treatment of Steel. This course provides a comprehensive knowledge that covers practical heat treating of carbon, alloy, stainless and tool steels. In this course, additional emphasis is placed on process applications, including valuable information on atmosphere control, quenching, temperature control and the type of equipment that is proper for different types of heat-treating operations.
With the majority of heat-treating problems occurring during quenching, the course now has more detailed coverage on quenching media and equipment to help you increase your understanding of hardening of steel. "Elements of Metallurgy" or "Metallurgy for Non-Metallurgist" or equivalent knowledge is recommended as a prerequisite.
